StocExpo Asia will take place from 2nd - 3rd October 2007 at the Suntec Expo, Singapore.
‘Singapore is aggressively expanding its already substantial independent oil storage capacity as it continues to strengthen its position as Asia's leading oil trading and blending centre. Several major projects are under construction and could be followed by at least another two in 2006/7. By 2008, local and foreign investors would have invested nearly US$ 1 billion to more than double Singapore's third party capacity from 3.6 million m³ to 7.3 million m³ in May 2006. The Singapore government has also announced plans to build at least 3 million m³ of underground storage capacity on the oil-petrochemical hub of Jurong Island by 2009. The underground storage project could be worth more than US$600 million. This year alone, Vopak, Oiltanking and Horizon Terminals will add a total of more than 1.3 million m³ in new tank capacity. This will be dwarfed by local trader Hin Leong's 2.3 million m³ terminal, which comes onstream in 2007. Third party or independent tanks are available to be rented out to traders. Separately, oil refiners and power companies in Singapore own and operate approximately 10.4 million m³ of ‘captive' tank capacity, mostly for internal use.'

Singapore is one of the world's leading oil refining and oil trading centres, in addition to being one of the top international petrochemical hubs. It ranks in the top 5 bulk liquids ports in the world and boasts a dedicated chemical complex on Jurong Island with 80 established chemical companies operating from the island alone.
Due to Asia's ever-increasing energy requirements storage capacity is set to increase in the coming years not only in Singapore but also countries such as China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.
With all this growth and potential what better place for StocExpo to be expanding its portfolio of successful exhibitions and conferences in the bulk liquid storage sector by hosting the inaugural StocExpo Asia event.
StocExpo will bring together terminal operators from throughout Asia to gain insight into the latest developments in the regulatory process, best practice and technological developments affecting the storage of petroleum products and petrochemicals.
Papers from senior representatives of some of the region's key operators and suppliers will facilitate discussion and knowledge-sharing to enable safer, more efficient and more cost-effective management of tank farms. A concurrent exhibition will showcase the latest advancements in equipment and service provision for the sector.
We look forward to seeing you there!
